Lillian Kelly

Lilian 2015Lilian Kelly studied for her BMus at London University and studied cello with Rhuna Martin and Moray Welsh, going on to gain a Performance Diploma from the National Centre of Orchestral studies. She has freelanced as a player in London, Spain and the Midlands and has worked for West Sussex and Staffordshire and Shropshire music services teaching cello, Viol and Double Bass and conducting and arranging for string ensembles.

Since moving to Shropshire Lilian has been in much demand as a cellist with the many local music societies and is a member of the Shropshire Chamber Orchestra, conducted by her husband Paul.

Lilian has recently been involved in an innovative initiative with the Princess Royal Hospital, playing solo cello to dementia patients as a therapeutic treatment. Lilian is a member of the Scherzando String Quartet. She plays on and English cello made by Mark Dearlove c1820
